The Sanyo PLC-XC56 XGA Ultraportable Multimedia Projector is light and small enough for portable use but at 3100 lumens and a 450:1 contrast ratio it has the projection power for permanent installation in a classroom, meeting room or media room.
If you wanted to describe the PLC-XC56 in one word "flexible" would be a good choice. With a native resolution of XGA (1024 x 768), it can also project 720p, 1035i and 1080i high definition signals. In addition to the North American standard, NTSC, it can also accept and project signals in NTSC 4.3, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N and SECAM.
It can compensate for four differently colored projection surfaces for when you don't have a screen handy. It has an 18 language onscreen display and it can display closed captioning from programming sources that provide it. And it has a 100 to 240 V AC 50/60 Hz power supply.
The PLC-XC56's flexibility extends in a number of directions. In case its built-in seven watt speaker isn't loud enough for your venue you can plug self-powered speakers into its VAO (variable audio out) jacks and control their volume from the remote control.
The projector's easy set up feature is another example of its flexibility. Once you turn the projector on it searches for an input signal and automatically performs keystone correction. The lamp replacement is via the top of the cabinet for easy access. The Active Maintenance Filter literally changes itself when it detects airflow falling below a predetermined threshold due to dust accumulation. If you use the projector eight hours every day you won't have to replace the filter cartridge for a year.
Once your presentation is over you can power off and go so you don't have to hang out waiting for the fan to cool down the lamp before you leave.
